Kehinde knew she was playing it safe staying at a job she wasn’t reaching her truest happiness in, and in 2015, it was time to make a change. That’s when her fitness training company, Power In Movement, was created. Now Kehinde’s career mirrors her values, and she wakes up each day prouder than ever. “As we harness the power within through movement, we’re able to show up as our best selves and accomplish anything,” she says.
“I believe that the power of movement is the impetus for change.”
In the time of a global pandemic, and as society ponders its contributions to systemic racism, it’s Kehinde’s hope that we continue to galvanize change, hold space for self-introspection, and demand inclusion from institutions. “Racial bias has manifested into lack of representation and exclusion within the wellness space,” she says. “This is a life-long journey. Deep, actualized changes need to be made structurally.”
